Your New Role Looks Like This:
At Australian Unity, we’re looking for an Employee and Wellbeing Consultant to drive our early intervention and return to work initiatives. In this role, you’ll work closely with managers, supervisors, insurers, medical practitioners and employees, providing expert advice to support successful return-to-work outcomes and build a culture of care and support.
This is your opportunity to shape our ongoing Early Intervention and workers compensation Strategy by implementing meaningful initiatives that enhance employee engagement and foster a thriving workplace.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Drive Positive Outcomes: Provide expert early intervention and rehabilitation advice and coaching to managers, promoting best practices in injury management and return-to-work support.
- Collaborate and Influence: Lead claims discussions, workplace meetings and case conferences and work closely with medical providers, insurers, employees, and managers to develop tailored return-to-work strategies.
- Streamline Processes: Continuously review and refine early intervention and return-to-work procedures, ensuring they remain relevant and effective.
- Provide Insights: Highlight and report safety and injury trends to the business to
- support informed decision-making.
- On-the-Ground Support: Conduct regular site visits and contacts to offer hands-on assistance and guidance to injured employees and their managers.
- Promote Wellbeing: Contribute to the development and implementation of our wellbeing framework, championing initiatives that enhance employee engagement and promote a wellness culture.
Please note that this is a fixed term contract opportunity for 12 months
About You:
- Proven experience of injury management, workers compensation and cultural change across a large and diverse workforce
- Qualifications in completing Ergonomic Assessments within an Office based environment. This is not mandatory but a nice to have
- Sound knowledge of NSW workers compensation legislation and expertise in developing and executing strategies in Workers’ Compensation
- High level interpersonal skills and proven ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organisation with a proven ability to build effective and professional relationships and build a shared vision and the ability to negotiate and influence stakeholders.
- Proven analytical, research and problem solving skills with the ability to identify key issues, seek multiple perspectives and recommend innovative solutions.
- Proven experience in presenting information to large groups and facilitate training as required.
- Experience in applying Health & Safety knowledge in aged and community care (desirable)
- Passion for and belief in employee wellbeing and safety ambitions
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities and manage expectations
- Ability to implement strategy to achieve key outcomes
- Proactive, engaged, collaborative and professional
- Constructive team collaboration work skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
