Your New Role

 

We are looking for 2x experienced Chefs to play a pivotal role in supporting the Chef Manager at our our home - The Alba based in South Melbourne.
We have 1x Full Time role (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday) and 1x Part Time role (Saturday, Sunday & Monday).

As the Chef, you will be preparing meals to the highest quality, maintaining hygiene standards and assisting in creating varying menus to keep our residents excited.

Working as part of a team to provide meal services to all residents, assisting in the efficient preparation and delivery of meals.

You will enjoy working within our Better Together® social model of ageing well, which offers a continuum of care and support services for our Residents, within a range of accommodation options in one location.    

 

What does your new role look like?

  • Preparing nutritious meals, snacks and desserts to the highest standards
  • Maintaining hygiene standards within the kitchen and adhering to health and safety procedures
  • Assisting the Chef Manager in developing new and exciting menu items
  • Developing relationships with residents and their families, providing companionship at mealtimes and seeking feedback on menu improvements
  • Ensuring stock levels are maintained and ordering completed in line with facility budgets
  • Working with a friendly team of Cooks, Kitchen Hands and Food Service Assistants

Does this sound like you?

 

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
  • A Food Handling / Food Safety Certificate (HLTFSE001) or willingness to obtain one
  • A strong customer focus
  • Experience in a similar role within Aged Care, Health Services or Catering advantageous but not essential
  • Knowledge of special dietary requirements/modified meals beneficial
  • Fully vaccinated for COVID 19, including the Booster and Influenza
