Chef | Aged Care

We are looking for a Casual Chef to work the hours of 9am to 5pm and ideally be available to work across 7 days. Hourly rate of $47.15 (inclusive of casual loading) + super + weekend loading (if applicable). 

The role 

We are currently looking for a motivated and experienced Chef to join our wonderful Aged Care team at The Alba located in South Melbourne. 

As the Chef you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef and Hospitality team while preparing resident meals to the highest quality and maintaining the highest hygiene standards.

We are not only focused on providing exceptional care to our residents but to provide a safe, secure, friendly, and supportive environment for our staff members.

What you will be doing  

• Preparing nutritious meals, snacks, and desserts to the highest standards
• Maintaining hygiene standards within the kitchen and adhering to health and safety procedures
• Developing relationships with residents and their families, providing companionship at mealtimes, and seeking feedback on menu improvements
• Working with a friendly team of Cooks, Kitchen Hands and Food Service Assistants

About you  

We are looking for an experienced Chef with the following qualities and skills: 

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
• A strong customer focus
• Experience in a similar role within Aged Care or a commercial kitchen
• Knowledge of special dietary requirements/modified meals (beneficial)
• Have a current NDISCW or willing to obtain an NDIS Clearance Check if successful
• Fully vaccinated for Influenza and COVID-19 (1 dose)
