Australian Unity is proud and excited to be partnering with Beyond Blue to deliver their 24/7 omnichannel brief counselling and advice service to all Australians in need. Working from home, you will provide brief phone and webchat support to our service users who typically present with mental health concerns. We’re looking for individuals passionate about supporting people experiencing emotional distress, depression, and anxiety to join our community-based team and make a difference every day.

 

We have Permanent Full-Time (37.5 hours/week) contracts available over our Overnight shift space which fall between 6pm and 8am the following day AEDT/AEST

 

You will be supported by an induction program which has been developed to scaffold, support, and safeguard BBSS Coaches in their first 12 months. This comprehensive skills-based training program is structured to support your growth as a BBSS Coach. Our aim is to help you develop competence in building your mental health support skills and confidence over the year.

 

About you:

You are a warm, empathic, kind and a patient individual. As a Mental Health Coach, you will deliver front-line support to help seekers in our community who present with emotional distress, anxiety, and depression symptoms.

  • Self-motivated and tech savvy with strong administration and time management skills
  • Resilient and can cope with high volume of calls and chats discussing complex mental health symptoms and life circumstances
  • Proven experience in an office-based, corporate, or contact center environment, with a strong emphasis on managing calls and utilizing computer-based systems on a daily basis, is essential
  • Demonstrated experience working overnight shifts is required
  • Willing to collaborate within a team to support mutual learning and engage in continuous professional development

 

While formal qualifications are not mandatory, candidates must possess relevant experience and demonstrate a genuine commitment to making a positive impact on people's lives and alleviating their distress.

 

You will be provided with relevant technology equipment to support you with your WFH setup however will be required to have the following:

  • Private room/space which can be used for your home office set up
  • Reliable/stable internet connection 
  • Demonstrated IT skills and proficiency in telephony-based systems where you are comfortable navigating multiple software, digital note taking and counselling and support simultaneously.
