Our Opportunity:

 

Reporting to the GM of Engineering, this critical role is responsible for analysing, designing, delivering and maintaining scalable, secure and stable solutions with emphasis on innovation and delivering business value. You will provide solution design capability for key initiatives to ensure the solution delivered meets the needs to the business and the overarching technology requirements.  You will develop strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization, ensuring they understand the scope and value of Customer, Digital & Technology services so that they see us as a vital enabler of their business strategy.

 

This is a full time permanent opportunity 

 

Accountabilities include:

  • Incident management, fail & fix and lifecycle management to ensure the Wealth & Capital Markets technology stack is and remains fit-for-purpose.
  • Implementing the agreed Technology Roadmap including strategic governance (via Architect)
  • Identifying and managing tech debt and associated risks
  • Working closely with the Architecture team to design technology solutions that meet the needs of the Wealth & Capital Markets business
  • Ensuring reuse and alignment of capability and technology asset with the Wealth & Capital Markets business and wider organization
  • Design, code, test and deploy software solutions across multiple platforms
  • Role model the aspired leadership behaviours to source, lead, develop & retain high quality team members aligned to the Australian Unity culture

About You:

 

This role requires a deep understanding of Technology, leadership experience,  and strong stakeholder management (both within the Retail leadership team as well with Group Technology), requiring a collaborative leadership style that drives for quality outcomes whilst taking into account commercial, employee and member requirements as well as governance requirements.

 

Further to this you will be able to demonstrate the following capabilities / experience:

 

  • In depth knowledge of documentation, coding, testing and deployment using multiple development languages and platforms.
  • Proven project and delivery skills, and an ability to work in an Agile environment.
  • Strong Software quality assurance and problem diagnosis and resolution.
  • Deep commercial software development/design experience, with tertiary qualifications in Computer Science or related discipline.
  • Proven experience in a technical leadership role with solution design experience
  • Experience working in a capital markets or financial services environments.
  • Ability to understand the essential needs of users and meet these needs in well-designed software applications and solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills as well as good skills in time and resource management
  • Passionate about applying technology to deliver business value
