About the Opportunity

As the Team Leader Accounts Receivable, you will lead a small team while remaining hands on across billing, collections, reconciliations and claims management activities.

This role goes beyond a traditional Accounts Receivable leadership position, with responsibility for overseeing complex funding reconciliations, unspent funds and claims processes. You will play a key role in ensuring the AR function operates efficiently, accurately and delivers a high standard of service to both internal and external stakeholders.

Working in a fast paced environment, you will balance day to day operational leadership with process improvement initiatives, helping to strengthen controls, improve workflows and drive performance across the function.

What you’ll do

  • Lead, coach and support a small Accounts Receivable team, fostering a collaborative and high performing culture
  • Oversee the end to end billing cycle, ensuring invoices are accurate, compliant and issued within required timeframes
  • Monitor receivables performance including collections, ageing and outstanding balances, taking proactive action to minimise risk
  • Manage complex billing discrepancies, reconciliations and stakeholder queries, ensuring timely resolution
  • Oversee claims management and unspent funds processes, including reconciliations, final statements and recovery activities
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external parties to ensure smooth service delivery and positive outcomes
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting and controls across the Accounts Receivable function
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture focused on accuracy, accountability and customer service

What you’ll bring

You are an experienced Accounts Receivable professional with strong expertise across billing, collections and reconciliations, combined with the ability to lead and support a team in a hands-on environment. You bring a proactive and solutions focused approach, with the confidence to manage complex queries, resolve discrepancies and build effective stakeholder relationships.

You are highly organised, detail oriented and comfortable managing competing priorities in a fast paced setting. Your ability to analyse data, monitor performance and identify process improvement opportunities allows you to contribute beyond day to day operations. Experience working with finance systems and reporting tools is important, along with strong communication skills and a collaborative leadership style.

This role would suit someone who enjoys balancing operational delivery with people leadership and is motivated by driving improvements and achieving positive outcomes.
