Your New Role Looks Like This:

 

Join Australian Unity as a Sustainability Manager, where you'll lead the charge in shaping and driving our Group's sustainability vision. In this pivotal role, you'll spearhead sustainability initiatives across our diverse property platforms, with a focus on Healthcare Property Funds. From advancing net zero goals to managing NABERS, Green Star, and other performance ratings, you'll establish robust systems for capturing and reporting sustainability data. You will work with internal and external stakeholders to bring awareness, education and implementation of initiatives at the asset level. Your work will ensure we meet evolving regulatory standards and align with Australian Unity's forward-thinking policies. Help us create a more sustainable future, one initiative at a time!

 

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Sustainability strategy development, predominantly at the property platform level and across the property funds
  • Lead implementation of ESG strategy with assistance from internal stakeholders and external consultants
  • Engage and manage relevant external consultants required for managing the implementation of the sustainability strategy and associated projects
  • Incorporate sustainability practices into property management operations by advising fund, asset and development managers and other property employees regarding sustainability issues
  • Keep abreast of current and emerging sustainability tends, in particular for property funds, and communicate to key stakeholders
  • Deliver program management and governance functions for all sustainability projects, including identifying, procuring, managing and commissioning large sustainability capex/opex programs within agreed budgets and timeframes
  • Develop and maintain property management relationships, including internal and external parties
  • Provide direction and oversight to property managers for the implementation of sustainability initiatives and data capture systems and processes
  • Liaise with property and facility managers, development managers and consultant teams to engage with and influence tenants and other third party stakeholders where required
  • Have knowledge and understanding of complex commercial agreements, including Leases, Development Agreements, Design and Construction Contracts, Project Agreements/Deeds and Facilities Management Contracts
  • Manage third party service providers, including assisting with RFP processes, vendor selection, onboarding, and administration of contracted services
  • Prepare components of sustainability reporting and interface with AUHPT and SI funds personnel for data collection and management

 

 

 About You:

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in sustainability, property, finance or related discipline; or equivalent experience
  • Relevant property industry experience with strong focus on asset management
  • Ability to develop sustainability strategies, obtain stakeholder support/approval and then execute
  • Technical expertise in sustainability and commercial property frameworks
  • Provide positive leadership and cultivate strong relationships including the ability to influence others
  • Strive for industry best practice
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills
  • Problem solving ability
  • Knowledge of sustainability and property-related legislation
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and encourage others.
