Your New Role Looks Like This:
In this role, you’ll actively support the preparation of statutory financial reports for Australian Unity and its key subsidiaries. You’ll ensure precision and consistency while mastering advanced tools and building a strong foundation in accounting policies and standards.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Statutory Reporting Excellence: Contribute to the production of interim and annual financial reports for AUL and its subsidiaries. Prepare solvency declarations for proprietary limited entities.
- Precision & Accuracy: Maintain accuracy and consistency in disclosures across all reporting entities to ensure high-quality outputs.
- Master the Standards: Develop expertise in the Group’s accounting policies and stay aligned with the latest AASB requirements.
- Tech-Savvy Reporting: Become the go-to expert in Onesource, TM1, and data analytics tools to drive efficient financial reporting and robust analysis.
- Collaborative Partnerships: Build strong working relationships with Financial Control, Group Taxation, and Commercial Finance teams to streamline processes and deliver on the Statutory Reporting team’s responsibilities.
This role is ideal for graduates eager to gain hands-on experience in financial reporting while working with industry-leading tools and standards. You’ll be part of a team that fosters growth and provides the guidance you need to build a successful finance career. From technical reporting to collaboration with multiple business units, this role offers a holistic introduction to the finance function.
About You:
- University degree majoring in accounting.
- Will be expected to seek qualification as a CAANZ or CPA (support provided) and achieve certification in a full professional qualification within the next 2 years from an industry recognised professional accounting body (either CAANZ or CPA Australia).
- Basic business acumen and developing an understanding of financial controls and processes.
- Basic technical accounting knowledge and statutory reporting skills
- Good Excel skills, and ideally (not necessary) computer literate in a range of financial software and reporting packages (e.g., SUN, TM1, OneSource) – training provided.
- Some knowledge of data analytics (such as coding and use of data techniques and tools is desirable)
