The Opportunity
The Senior Performance & Reward Advisor is accountable for the end-to-end design, governance, and operationalisation of enterprise-wide performance and reward frameworks that align individual and team contribution to organisational values, behavioural expectations, and strategic objectives and targets ensuring frameworks are equitable, evidence-based, and consistently applied across the organisation to drive a high-performance culture and meaningful recognition of contribution.
Reporting to the GM Leadership, Culture and Organisational Development, this role leads the continuous improvement of key cycles (goal setting, check-ins, performance review and recognition/compensation activities), owns the supporting people system modules configuration and reporting, and provides expert advice to executives, business leaders and People & Culture partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Performance frameworks and annual program
- Design, implement, maintain and continuously improve enterprise-wide performance management frameworks, including goal-setting methodologies, performance review cycles, and behavioural assessment tools
- Develop and govern policy, process, and procedure documentation to ensure consistent, equitable application of performance frameworks across all business units and aligned to AU values and strategic objectives (OKRs/KPIs)
Reward and recognition frameworks and annual program
- Design, implement, and evaluate total reward strategies including remuneration structures, incentive programs, and non-monetary recognition initiatives across employee and executives programs
- Conduct regular benchmarking and market analysis Develop and manage recognition programs that reinforce values-aligned behaviours and high performance
- Partner with Finance and leadership to model, cost, and govern reward program expenditure
Operationalisation and system enablement. Continuous improvement & automation
- Lead the configuration and optimisation of performance and reward modules within HRIS platforms (e.g. SAP SuccessFactors) to support seamless end-to-end process delivery
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reporting, and analytics to provide insights
- Design and deliver capability uplift for people leaders on performance and reward practices
- Maintain and deliver an improvement backlog for reward/performance processes and tools (automation, self-service, workflow simplification and knowledge uplift).
Stakeholder partnering & advisory
- Serve as the subject matter expert and trusted advisor to senior leaders, People & Culture Business Partners, and the executive team on all matters relating to performance and reward
- Partner with Legal, Finance, and Workplace Relations to ensure frameworks meet legislative obligations including equal remuneration, modern award compliance, and enterprise agreement requirements

About You
You will be an experienced Reward and Performance professional with 6-7 years’ leadership experience, with a successful track record of leading the design and delivery of end-to-end performance and remuneration frameworks within complex medium-to-large organisations. Highly data-driven and detail-oriented, you are adept at translating complex reward data into clear, decision-ready insights, and are confident working across HR systems to enable seamless delivery of annual cycles. A trusted advisor, you are comfortable engaging and influencing very senior stakeholders, providing clear, pragmatic and commercially sound advice to support decision-making.
You will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business, Analytics or similar (or equivalent experience).
- At least 6-7 years’ experience designing and implementing executive remuneration and incentive programs that drive leadership performance with demonstrated experience delivering annual performance and reward/recognition cycles in a medium-to-large organisation.
- Experience administering HR systems supporting performance and reward processes (including workflow and role-based access).
- Experience producing decision-ready reporting on performance outcomes, distributions, remuneration
- movements and variable outcomes.
- Experience partnering with Finance and Payroll on budgets, approvals and payroll handoffs.
- Experience working in environments with strong governance expectations (privacy, audit, approvals and segregation of duties).
- Desirable: job evaluation/grading methodology and salary survey benchmarking.
- Desirable: experience supporting HR system implementations/upgrades
