Your New Role Looks Like This:
As a Senior Manager, Business Risk, you’ll partner closely with leaders across Wealth & Capital Markets to deliver practical, forward-thinking risk solutions that support commercial performance, regulatory compliance, and long-term sustainability.
This is a highly collaborative first line business engagement role reporting into the Head of Operational Compliance and Assurance and working closely with the General Manager, W&CM Operations to strengthen our risk and compliance capability and embed a proactive risk culture across the division.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Lead business risk operations, ensuring alignment with approved frameworks, delegations, and policies.
- Provide operational advice and propose enhancements to risk and control practices that support business objectives.
- Oversee business compliance with policy obligations and support uplift initiatives as directed by the Head of Operational Compliance and Assurance
- Enhance risk data and reporting quality, enabling more insightful and timely decision-making.
- Manage operational incidents and breaches from identification through to resolution, in line with regulatory requirements.
- Lead the design and implementation of critical controls and risk mitigation processes.
- Drive documentation of key business processes, vendors, systems, and controls, building a clear risk landscape.
- Own and continuously improve Business Continuity Planning (BCP) across W&CM in line with Group policy.
- Champion the timely completion of BCP attestations, testing, and compliance obligations.
- Build trusted partnerships with the WCM and Operations leadership teams, empowering them to own their risks, controls, and action plans.
- Collaborate with second line Risk & Compliance and Internal Audit teams to support a robust three lines of defence model.
- Deliver customer-centric risk initiatives that enhance experience and portfolio performance.
- Drive the WCM Control Self-Assessment program, uplifting risk maturity and enabling informed, strategic risk-taking.
- Influence business decisions through the delivery of practical risk insights, Go / No Go participation, and regulatory change programs.
- Lead and deliver targeted risk projects and frameworks that support business agility and resilience.
- Embed a customer-first mindset into all risk management activities, supporting feedback loops that drive innovation and improvement.
About You:
We’re seeking a confident, collaborative risk leader with deep experience in operational risk, compliance, or assurance within financial services with exposure (or awareness) to retirement villages.
You’ll bring:
- Strong stakeholder management and business partnering capability
- A passion for driving a proactive, customer-focused risk culture
- Experience in delivering uplift projects, frameworks, or risk transformation initiatives
- Familiarity with risk tools, compliance frameworks, and regulatory change
- BCP experience (will be highly regarded)
