Your New Role Looks Like This:
As a Senior Finance Analyst, you will support the Retirement Communities Finance Team and be responsible for the day-to-day financial management of Australian Unity’s retirement village portfolio. You will partner with the village managers and resident committees to ensure smooth operation of the village finances.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Ensure transactions are recorded in compliance with applicable accounting policies, relevant state legislation & accounting standards.
- Prepare monthly/Quarterly accounts for Retirement Village Managers and resident’s committees.
- Reconcile salaries and wages monthly to drive the correct allocation of staffing across the retirement village portfolio.
- Ensure that monthly accounts contain adequate and appropriate commentary to justify material variances for Retirement Village Managers.
- Attend quarterly residents committee meetings.
- Preparation of all balance sheet account reconciliations monthly, clearing all variances as required in a timely manner.
- Deal directly with residents and resident committees on a range of financial and non-financial issues.
- Preparation of a ‘bottom up’ approach to the annual budget process across all resident budgets.
- Support Senior Commercial Finance Manager in all finance and reporting matters.
About You:
- CA/CPA qualification (or equivalent membership of a recognized accounting body) is required.
- Proven experience in an accounting role, with a solid understanding of P&L, balance sheets, and budgeting.
- Knowledge of Retirement Villages Legislation is highly desirable, but not essential.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for different audiences and influence stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to continually review, analyze, and improve processes to enhance efficiency and quality.
