Your New Role Looks Like This:
We’re looking for a Senior Data Steward to help uplift Australian Unity’s enterprise data governance capability and make a real impact on how we manage, protect and use data across the organisation.
If you love solving complex data problems, enjoy working with stakeholders, and want to help shape data governance at scale - this role gives you the space and influence to do just that.
- Lead the uplift of our data governance tools (Ataccama, Tableau) and help improve data quality, controls and processes
- Work across the business to support data mapping, privacy and security uplift
- Translate technical concepts into clear, business‑friendly insights
- Collaborate with tech, data and business teams to embed governance standards
- Gather and document requirements for future data governance tooling
- Implement Technical Roadmap for Data Governance in collaboration with the Data Operations team
- Build strong relationships and act as a trusted advisor to data stewards and SMEs
- Contribute to an engaged, collaborative and high‑performing Data Governance team
About You:
You’ll thrive in this role if you have:
- 5+ years in Data Engineering with experience in AWS Glue
- Minimum 2 years cloud engineering experience in AWS
- Hands‑on experience with Ataccama and building Tableau dashboards
- Strong understanding of privacy, security and data governance frameworks
- Experience implementing data controls and project management experience implementing data projects
- Ability to influence, coach and partner with stakeholders at all levels
- A proactive, collaborative approach - and a passion for improving how data is used
