Your New Role Looks Like This:

 

As the Senior Data Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure and operationally stable modern data solutions that supports People & Culture initiatives. You will continuously improve the People Data Foundations Platform based on advancements in best practices and in response to business requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities Include:

 

  • Build brand new people data domain’s modern cloud platform
  • Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines and ETL processes on cloud platforms, with a strong focus on AWS services.
  • Architect and optimize data warehouse and data lake solutions for high performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Implement and optimize data warehouse and data lake solutions on AWS to support the platform initiatives.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing data validation and monitoring processes.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet their needs.
  • Implement best practices for data governance, security, and compliance on cloud platforms, including encryption, access control, and auditing.
  • Automate deployment, monitoring, and management of data infrastructure using cloud-native tools and technologies.
  • Lead performance tuning and optimization efforts to enhance the speed, scalability, and efficiency of data processing and analytics workflows
  • Manage and support the daily operational performance of the platform including monitoring, alerting, lifecycle management, incident response and defect resolution within defined thresholds.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to team members, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement within the data foundations team.

 

About You:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in data engineering or software development, with a strong focus on cloud technologies.
  • 4+ years’ experience developing data solutions in cloud platform AWS tech stack (Glue, CloudFormation, EMR, S3, EC2, Redshift, RDS)
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python with a demonstrated ability to build complex data processing applications and workflows
  • Familiarity with big data technologies such as Apache Spark is a plus
  • Solid understanding of data modelling, database design, and SQL, along with experience working with both relational and non-relational databases.
  • Working knowledge of Data Quality and Master Data Management
  • Strong Software quality assurance and problem diagnosis and resolution
  • Proven DevOps experience inclusive of creating CI/CD/CT pipelines for data engineering and analytics
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex data issues and optimize data workflows for performance and scalability.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Liaise effectively with project team members, business stakeholders and external vendors to build strong partnerships to help create a collaborative, transparent, and high performing culture with a strong delivery mind set.
  • Demonstrable experience in mentoring and coaching those around you to develop their own technical skills.
  • AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Data Engineer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified Big Data - Specialty are desirable.
