The Opportunity

 

The Senior Analyst Performance and Insights is a highly visible role working closely with departmental finance heads to deliver accurate financial analysis, insight and reporting to enable fact-based decision making for senior management, executives and the Board of the Australian Unity Group. This role will also demonstrate initiative and is pro-active with the ability to gather, interpret and present data to assisting in business decisions for the group.

 

The primary objective of this role is to lead and deliver month-end reporting and analysis and insight to group performance, undertake portfolio analysis and assist in the delivery of the annual strategic planning process for the Australian Unity Group.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Business insights

  • Ensures efficient, timely and accurate analysis and reporting of performance, and develop a comprehensive analysis of trends and insights into group performance
  • Lead the analysis of financial results to drive optimal decision making.
  • Undertake regular reviews of portfolio performance
  • Create, lead and maintain reporting and analysis through Tableau.
  • Support the implementation of new performance measures into business-as-usual reporting.

 

Processes

  • Lead and deliver the month-end reporting cycle for the Australian Unity Group within timetable.
  • Lead the finalisation and production of the monthly and quarterly financial reporting packs with relevant variance analysis and commentary in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Lead the delivery, finalisation and production of the results reported for the annual strategic planning cycle.
  • Co-ordinate the delivery and reporting of Profit & Loss Risks and Opportunities ahead of the forecast/planning cycles.
  • Map and re-engineer current processes to produce reporting, analysis and insight in a more efficient manner

 

Business Partnering

  • Build effective working and business partnering relationships with key stakeholders to ensure alignment of reporting and forecasting processes.
  • Support Head of Performance Insights and GM Finance as required.

 

Financial Data Systems

  • Review and maintenance of the Group Chart of Accounts, TM1 and Tableau tool to improve operational and reporting capabilities.
  • Ensure the overall integrity between finance systems and the reports produced.
  • Manage the impact of organisational changes required for Management Reporting on finance systems

You will bring:

  • Membership of a recognised accounting body is mandatory (CA or CPA qualified).
  • 5+ years relevant corporate management accounting experience
  • 2+ years relevant management reporting or FP&A analyst experience.
  • Experience in finance applications (Sunsystems, TM1, Tableau or other similar reporting tools)
  • Advanced Excel and Powerpoint presentation skills and computer literate in a range of financial software and accounting packages
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Experience in the delivery, finalisation and reporting processes for a medium to large complex organisation.
  • Experience in financial control, system processes, variance analysis, reconciliations, issue resolution and journal processing.
  • Process mapping and process re-engineering experience
  • Ability to adapt to change and innovation.
  • Ability to present a summary of financial performance to relevant stakeholders.
  • Drive to achieve results within time constraints and conflicting priorities.
