Your New Role Looks Like This:

 

In this role, you’ll work closely with the Head of Group Risk & Compliance and a collaborative team to coordinate the submission of risk and compliance reporting for the Board and Executive Risk & Compliance Committees, including managing agendas and loading meeting material. You’ll also contribute to managing and improving our governance practices and support ongoing control testing to strengthen our control environment.

 

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Support Committee reporting: Own the preparation of Board and Executive Risk & Compliance Committee, including setting the agenda, requests for papers and submission materials, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely distribution.
  • Ensure best-practice governance processes: Manage key governance processes, including Fit and Proper reviews and Conflict of Interest declarations, and Group Executive attestation reporting.
  • Improve the control environment: Design and conduct control testing to assess effectiveness, identify gaps, and strengthen our compliance framework.
  • Lead incident management: Assist in triaging, assessing, and overseeing remediation efforts to maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Improve risk awareness: Contribute to initiatives that enhance understanding of risk management and compliance across the organisation.

 

Please note that this role is part-time (4 days) however we do welcome applications from full-time job seekers.

 

About You:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (or equivalent experience) with a minimum of three years experience in a governance, risk or compliance role
  • Prior experience in managing agendas and distributions of papers for meetings (preferable).
  • A knowledge of the risk management and compliance / regulatory framework applicable to Australian Unity’s businesses
  • Experience with working agilely in complex environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to complete tasks to tight deadlines and the flexibility to handle constantly changing priorities
