About the Opportunity:

 

Join Australian Unity’s Finance & Strategy team as a Purchasing Officer and play a key role in supporting the financial management of our Group Technology function.

 

This role is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of purchase orders, invoices and receipting activities, while ensuring compliance with company policies, financial controls and taxation requirements. Working closely with Finance, Group Technology, Procurement, Accounts Payable and external suppliers, you’ll support the Technology Commercial function through effective purchasing administration, query resolution and process improvement.

 

You’ll help ensure technology-related expenditure, vendor payments and purchasing documentation are managed in line with agreed processes, while contributing to strong financial governance and service delivery across the function.

 

In this role, you will:

 

  • Manage purchasing activities including purchase order creation, invoice processing and receipting
  • Support the timely resolution of billing, purchasing and invoice-related queries
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to resolve processing issues
  • Monitor and triage service requests and shared mailbox activity
  • Maintain accurate documentation, registers and billing process records
  • Ensure purchasing and invoicing activities comply with financial controls, company policies and SLAs
  • Identify opportunities to improve purchasing processes and ways of working

 

About You:

 

You’re a detail-oriented finance, purchasing or accounts payable professional who enjoys working in a role where accuracy, organisation and stakeholder service are key.

 

You bring a structured and methodical approach to your work, with the ability to manage competing priorities, resolve queries and follow processes accurately. You’re comfortable working with internal teams and external suppliers, and take pride in delivering timely, reliable support in a busy environment.

 

Your background may include experience in purchasing, accounts payable, finance administration or a similar role. Exposure to technology-related invoicing, contractor costs, vendors or supplier payments will be highly regarded.

 

You Will Bring:

 

  • Experience in a Purchasing Officer or Accounts Payable role
  • Hands-on experience with purchase order creation, invoice processing and receipting
  • Exposure to technology invoicing, contractor costs, vendor payments or supplier administration will be highly regarded
  • Strong attention to detail and a structured, methodical approach to problem-solving
  • A sound understanding of financial controls, processes and compliance requirements
  • Experience with Coupa or other financial systems will be highly regarded
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including strong Excel skills
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with Finance, Technology, Procurement, Accounts Payable and external suppliers
  • The ability to prioritise tasks, manage time well and work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
