Our Opportunity:

 

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Operational Excellence, the Learning and Development Specialist supports the Insurances Platform by designing and delivering practical learning solutions that help our people build the skills they need to succeed and improve outcomes for our members. Collaborating closely with the Senior Learning and Development Specialist, you will be focusing on implementing training programs, enhancing learning experiences, and working with people leaders, technical experts, and enabling functions to ensure skill gaps are identified and initiatives are effectively integrated.

 

The role also plays an important part in fostering a learning culture; by encouraging continuous skill development, knowledge sharing, and adaptability to strengthen organizational capabilities needed to meet its strategic objectives.

 

Accountabilities include:

 

  • Scope, design, develop, deliver and evaluate employee-centred Learning and Development solutions that deliver on business needs and strategic objectives
  • Demonstrate expertise in designing integrated learning experiences that leverage different learning modalities as well as aspects of knowledge management
  • Conduct Learning Needs Analyses in collaboration with business leaders and ensure that learning solutions address business needs and are aligned with the broader business strategy
  • Create engaging instructional content and activities that enhances learning retention and knowledge transfer in different media (audio, video, role play etc.)
  • Apply tested instructional design theories, practice and methods
  • Monitor performance of Learning and Development content & activities (ensuring all Learning initiatives and solutions meet industry and sector quality and compliance requirements) and learner outcome
  • Maintain project documentation and course folders
  • Assume responsibility for end-to-end delivery of learning activities and outcomes
  • Ensure all Learning initiatives are delivered within agreed timelines and budgets
  • Report regularly on all Learning initiatives

 

About You:

 

To be successful in the role you will be able to demonstrate experience in instructional design including scoping, developing, delivering and evaluating people-centred learning solutions in comparable contexts.  Further to this you will be able to demonstrate the following capabilities / experience:

 

  • Using and managing LMS Platforms
  • Sound experience facilitating workshops and/or training sessions.
  • Proven experience co-designing and collaborating with diverse stakeholders including people leaders and SMEs
  • Ability to design and deliver engaging learning programs (digital and face-to-face)
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills
  • Experience with e-learning tools and LMS platforms
  • Understanding of adult learning and/or development principles and instructional design
  • Collaboration skills to work with leaders, SMEs, and enabling functions
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Basic data analysis for evaluating learning effectiveness
