Your New Role Looks Like This:
The purpose of the Sales Team Leader is to:
- Coach, develop and manage a team of consultants (Personal Health Insurance, Overseas Visitors Cover and General Insurance) to achieve/exceed business KPI’s;
- Be responsible for ensuring the delivery of team performance excellence through the provision of ongoing product, procedural and system training to frontline staff;
- Develop and drive a strong sales and retention culture within the team:
- Meet business objectives whilst continually looking for potential improvements
In addition to the above, the role acts as Sales specialist and leads, develops and coaches the team to meet key business objectives and deliver on the defined customer experience whilst contributing to the creation of a dynamic people and customer-oriented culture which celebrates individual and team success.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Growth: Lead the Sales team to deliver insurance new business results by driving sales activity, monitoring performance against budget, and implementing strategies to consistently achieve revenue targets.
- Customer front & centre: Create value for our new and existing members by delivering exceptional customer experiences measured by NPS. Understand customer perceptions and drivers by actively taking and listening to calls, seek and act upon staff feedback and escalations and apply their operational knowledge to elevate customer satisfaction
- People Management: Create & maintain sales and retention toolkit to assist in onboarding members. Maintain inbound and outbound resources in line with fluctuating call trends. Manage and monitor staff sick leave, annual leave, and non-compliance to rosters, to ensure adherence and improve productivity
- Operational Management: Motivate, coach and mentor consultants, using quality assurance, development plans and regular one-on-ones. Manage a Team of Consultants to achieve KPI’s that are in line with Business Unit targets. Review current performance metrics (incl. incentives & KPI’s) to determine alignment with existing business objectives and growth opportunities
- Continuous Improvement: Motivate, coach and mentor consultants, using quality assurance, development plans and regular one-on-ones. Manage a Team of Consultants to achieve KPI’s that are in line with Business Unit targets. Review current performance metrics (incl. incentives & KPI’s) to determine alignment with existing business objectives and growth opportunities.
- Risk and Compliance: Monitor and ensure adherence to relevant compliance and regulatory requirements. Ensure team compliance to Safetrac training requirements incl. OH&S obligations

About You:
- Experience within customer service
- Sales & Retention experience
- Experience leading a team of 8 or more people for at least 5 years
- Previous experience in developing and skilling others – including analysis of training needs and establishing staff development plans

- Experience of at least three years in a management role
- 5 years contact centre industry experience
