The Opportunity

 

As an IT Auditor, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality IT audits that strengthen technology governance, enhance cybersecurity, and drive organisational success.

 

As a member of the Group Internal Audit team, you will conduct independent reviews both autonomously and as a team member primarily within the technology and information security domains with an expectation to also perform integrated reviews covering (technology and business operations).

Key Responsibilities Include:

 

  • Support planning and delivery of internal audits, particularly across IT systems and processes
  • Review key processes and evaluate the IT risk and control environment using AU GA Methodology.
  • Ascertain the extent of compliance with established policies, procedures, and legislated practice
  • Understand and keep up to date to rapidly changing technologies environment and applies an understanding of IT risk, control, and security to their work.
  • Collect and analyse data using audit tools and AI to support audit planning and execution.
  • Raise issues and results of audits and communicate these with Line and Senior Managers through verbal discussions and written reports that clearly articulate key issues, themes, root causes etc.
  • Assess action plans proposed by Management and provide ‘Value add’ solutions where required.
  • To achieve the delivery of completed audit assignments within the budgeted timeframes agreed.
  • To proactively maintain and foster effective professional relationships with key stakeholders during and outside formal audit assignments.
  • To maintain continuous professional development and training to remain abreast of current practices and skills.

 

 

About you

 

You are an analytical, proactive Internal Audit professional with an understanding of understanding of IT systems, infrastructure and cybersecurity principles. You will be proficient with audit tools, testing procedures and a strong attention to detail. You will have good stakeholder influencing and relationship development skills with a focus on innovation and a continuous improvement mindset.

Some experience in financial services and a knowledge of Australian regulatory environment is desirable but not mandatory.

You will bring:

  • Successful completion of an appropriate tertiary qualification preferably Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Eligibility in professional accreditation bodies (e.g., ISACA, ISC2, IIA) and a commitment to continuing professional development including CISA certification.
  • Minimum three years of internal auditing experience
  • Tech-savvy and appreciation of rapid technology changes impacting IT, security and data risk environment.
  • An appreciation and understanding of data analytics and AI would be beneficial
  • Well-developed and effective communication skills including a high standard of business report writing
  • Understanding and application of financial principles and grasp of business concepts
  • Ability to work autonomously and within defined methodologies and timeframes
  • Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Visio. TeamMate advantageous.
