Our Opportunity

 

Due to a 12-month secondment we have an exciting opportunity for Head of Marketing – Insurances. This position plays a critical role for Australian Unity leading the strategic direction and execution of marketing and member communication initiatives across the Insurances business comprising private health and general insurance.

 

In addition to the above, the Head of Marketing is responsible for driving growth through innovative, customer-centric marketing strategies, digital excellence, and cross-functional collaboration. This role will champion brand consistency, lead high- performing teams, align marketing priorities and deliver measurable commercial impact.

 

Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Develop and execute integrated marketing strategies aligned with business goals and customer insights.
  • Lead brand positioning, product marketing, and go-to-market strategies for health and general insurance.
  • Build quarterly marketing plans, ensuring timely execution of initiatives across brand, digital, sales and product streams.
  • Collaborate closely with business leaders to craft tailored marketing strategies to achieve business goals, ensuring alignment with commercial goals and customer needs.
  • Contribute to product development by providing strategic marketing insights during the  conceptualisation phase, ensuring market fit and customer relevance.
  • Own the end-to-end lead generation strategy across phone, digital and partnerships driving consistent pipeline growth aligned with business objectives.
  • Build data-driven campaigns that attract, engage, and convert high-value prospects through targeted
  • Leverage CRM and marketing platforms to track lead behaviour, refine targeting,
    and deliver actionable insights for continuous improvement.
    Champion brand visibility and thought leadership through strategic content, events, and partnerships that generate inbound interest and qualified leads.
  • Drive member satisfaction and loyalty by designing and delivering compelling customer value propositions (CVPs) and seamless experiences across key customer journeys, ensuring consistency, relevance, and measurable impact
  • Lead the Lifecycle team to execute communication strategies that support member engagement across all lifecycle stages—from acquisition and onboarding to retention and advocacy 
  • Lead strategic relationships with third-party agencies, overseeing creative
    development, media planning, and paid performance to ensure cohesive brand representation, campaign effectiveness, and delivery against ROI benchmarks.

 

What we are looking for

 

  • Relevant tertiary and post graduate qualifications preferred. Successful completion of a relevant post-graduate qualification would be highly regarded
  • Extensive experience in corporate marketing, with proven leadership in dynamic environments
  • Track record of designing and executing large-scale marketing campaigns 
  • Strong stakeholder management at senior levels
  • Expertise in digital marketing, customer experience, and data-driven strategy Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional projects
  • Experience in Private Health Insurance or General Insurances would be highly regarded
