For us, Real Wellbeing encompasses the whole experience of life. It’s about feeling supported in your health, connected with your community and empowered to live life on your terms.

About the Opportunity:

As we continue to evolve our technology landscape and strengthen our governance frameworks, we're seeking an experienced Head of Group Information, Data, AI & Technology Risk to lead independent oversight across some of the organisation's most critical risk domains. Reporting to the General Manager, Group Risk & Compliance, this is a highly visible leadership opportunity influencing executive decision-making, supporting strategic growth and helping ensure Australian Unity remains resilient, compliant and future ready

You'll play a key role in shaping the maturity of our risk frameworks, supporting regulatory compliance and helping the organisation navigate an increasingly complex technology and data environment. From advising on major strategic initiatives and supplier risk assessments to engaging with executive committees and regulators, you'll be a trusted advisor across the business.

What you’ll do:

  • Leading the Group's second line information, cyber, data, AI and technology risk oversight capability.
  • Providing expert risk advice and challenge to executives, business leaders and technology teams on strategic initiatives, transformation programs and material risks.
  • Driving assurance activities to assess the effectiveness of controls and support continuous improvement across the control environment.
  • Overseeing compliance with key regulatory obligations and industry standards, including APRA CPS 234 and PCI compliance requirements.
  • Supporting governance forums and committees through insightful reporting, risk analysis and independent recommendations.
  • Partnering with technology, risk, legal, and audit stakeholders to strengthen risk culture, capability and decision-making across the Group

About You:

You are an experienced risk leader with deep expertise across technology, cyber, information, data and emerging AI risk. You have a proven track record of providing independent oversight and trusted advice within complex, highly regulated environments, while balancing strong risk management outcomes with commercial pragmatism.

You are confident building relationships and influencing stakeholders at all levels of an organisation, including executive leaders, board committees and regulators. Your ability to provide constructive challenge, navigate ambiguity and drive meaningful outcomes enables you to build credibility and trust across diverse stakeholder groups.

You will hold relevant tertiary qualifications and professional certifications such as CISA, CRISC or similar. Most importantly, you are passionate about strengthening risk culture, improving governance outcomes and supporting the organisation to safely achieve its strategic objectives.
