About the Opportunity

 

We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Graduate Accountant to join our Finance team on a 9-month fixed-term contract.

 

Reporting to the Financial Control Manager, you'll play an important role in supporting the delivery of timely, accurate and commercially focused financial and management accounting services. Working closely with stakeholders across Finance and the broader business, you'll gain exposure to financial reporting, compliance, budgeting, forecasting, process improvement initiatives and business partnering activities.

 

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent accounting graduate or early-career professional looking to build a strong foundation within a collaborative and supportive finance team while working towards their CA or CPA qualification.

 

What you'll do

 

  • Financial reporting and month-end processes: Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, including accruals, prepayments, journals and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Management and statutory reporting: Support the preparation and delivery of monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual reporting packs for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Tax and compliance support: Assist with BAS, FBT and other compliance requirements while maintaining high standards of financial governance and control.
  • Budgeting and forecasting: Contribute to budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning activities through data collection, analysis and reporting.
  • Financial analysis and business insights: Support the analysis of financial results and provide meaningful insights to assist business decision-making.
  • Audit support: Assist with internal and external audit requirements, ensuring information is accurate, complete and delivered within required timeframes.
  • Stakeholder engagement: Build strong working relationships across Finance and the broader business to support collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Process improvement: Participate in projects and initiatives aimed at improving finance processes, systems and efficiencies.

 

About You

 

You're a proactive and adaptable graduate who enjoys working with numbers, solving problems and collaborating with others to achieve results. You have a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills and a genuine interest in building a career in finance.

 

You will bring:

 

  • A recently completed degree in Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline
  • Eligibility to commence, or current enrolment in, a CA or CPA qualification
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • A willingness to learn, take ownership and contribute as part of a team
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Previous internship, accounting or finance experience will be highly regarded
