At Australian Unity we are going through an exciting phase of innovative business growth in our Residential Aged Care business, which brings to life our Better Together® social model of ageing well, which offers a continuum of care and support services within an environment which provides the empowerment and ‘choice’ for our residents to live how they want to.
We have an exciting opportunity for a new General Manager to join us at The Alba in South Melbourne.
It’s an exciting period of growth and transformation for our unique Alba property, as the current 95 bed RAC residence is currently preparing for a further extension with the addition of 33 new beds.
The new RAC suites being open in mid-October this year, will mark the beginning of an exciting further expansion to other floors within the building.
Your New Role:
As the General Manager, you will lead and manage all operational, care and clinical service delivery, ensuring that your teams are trained, supported, and engaged to always deliver the best experience and care for our residents.
Key Deliverables:

- Leading the end-to-end Better Together® resident experience across the precinct by delivering exceptional service, support, and care
- Leading the operations team by promoting a positive culture to fulfill the Better Together® promise
- Fostering an engaged and supportive environment whilst overseeing recruitment, roster management, training and providing coaching on best practice
- Working closely with key stakeholders of the precinct including residents, families, visitors, contractors, and staff to ensure high standards of care and exceptional service
- Overseeing the precinct financial performance and reporting; ensuring key performance measures are delivered in-line with budget and support requirements
- Identifying and managing risks, managing resident needs and complex issues as required
- Overseeing the precinct obligations for quality assurance, audits, and Aged Care accreditation

Does this sound like you?

- Previous experience as a General Manager in Aged Care, managing a larger and complex site and property.
- Exceptional leadership skills with a continuous improvement mindset and the ability to nurture and develop team culture and performance.
- Experience in operational management including recruiting, workforce planning/roster management and around operations within a larger complex business.
- Strong financial acumen, financial management and reporting experience
- Fully vaccinated for 2025 Influenza and COVID-19 Dose 1 and 2
