Your New Role Looks Like This:

 

Join Australian Unity’s Wealth & Capital Markets division as a Financial Analyst – AU Life and make a meaningful impact in a high-growth sector where we’re leading the market in investment bonds.

In this dynamic role, you’ll work closely with the Head of Finance – AU Life to provide expert financial and actuarial insights, support regulatory and management reporting, and collaborate on strategic initiatives. You’ll play a pivotal role in managing our actuarial service providers, ensuring our prudential obligations are met while contributing to product innovation and investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Partner with the Head of Finance – AU Life to manage actuarial service vendors and meet regulatory reporting obligations.
  • Deliver high-quality reports for management, the board, and regulators within set timeframes.
  • Ensure accurate data collation, analysis, and validation for quarterly APRA returns.
  • Support capital management decisions and bonus declarations for benefit funds.
  • Conduct financial modelling and feasibility analysis to inform investment decisions.
  • Collaborate on strategic partnerships, white-label opportunities, and product design.
  • Contribute to ICAAP updates, stress testing, and risk scenario analysis.
  • Provide valuable insights for budgeting, forecasting, and business planning.
  • Continuously seek process improvements and enhance financial methodologies.

 

About You:

 

  • Tertiary qualifications within one or more of the following disciplines: Financial Analysis, Actuarial Studies, Economics, Information Systems and Business
  • Actuarial background highly desirable
  • Demonstrated experience in the life insurance, capital management and/or broader financial services sectors.
  • Solid technical skills including EXCEL and VBA
  • Knowledge of the funds management industry desirable (either via direct experience or consulting to Funds Management client)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyse and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Tertiary qualifications within one or more of the following disciplines: Financial Analysis, Actuarial Studies, Economics, Information Systems and Business
