The Opportunity
The Test Analyst will work as part of a wider cross-functional team to plan, develop, execute and report on testing for a large and complex program of work and will have oversight and accountability for both technical and non-technical testing across corporate website, microsites, mobile apps, vendor portals, and external forms solutions.
A key part of this role is working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders from technical and business through to creative; to review and understand requirements and scope of solutions and deliver outstanding work whilst maintaining the customer vision and meeting deadlines. The Test Analyst will also assist in identifying product and process weaknesses, and solutions, in an environment of continual improvement.
The Test Analyst will be responsible for working closely with the development team to formulate estimates, plans and acceptance criteria, and will contribute to building team capability by training and coaching team members and stakeholders in testing methodology and protocols.
Key Responsibilities
Test plans, frameworks and environments
- Define, develop and communicate the test strategy and plan for the team and digital at Australian Unity, including both manual and automated testing (automated testing designed to increase the frequency and efficiency of testing in the development cycle).
- Develop QA methodologies, test phases and planned execution cycles, including breakpoints, cross-browser and device compatibility assessments.
Execute test framework
- Plan, manage, execute and report on end to end testing - both technical & business; including functional, exploratory, performance, regression and acceptance testing.
- Development and execution of both manual and automated test scripts using Cypress, Selenium, AppliTools, and RestAPI.
- Development of automated test scripts in C# or Java scripting languages.
Customer Obsession
- Familiarisation with UI/UX best practices, breakpoints, and picking up defects affecting customer experience.

The Ideal Profile
The ideal QA Analyst brings a strong customer-first mindset and proven experience across digital testing frameworks, ensuring high-quality, reliable user experiences. They are a pragmatic problem solver with a keen eye for detail, balancing technical capability across testing, documentation and deployment with strict adherence to governance and standards. Passionate about simple, elegant solutions, they thrive in fast-paced environments and collaborate effectively with stakeholders, leveraging strong communication and time management skills to deliver consistent, high-impact outcomes.
You will bring:
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent + minimum 3+ years commercial software development experience
- Strong experience in Program Test Management within an enterprise organisation
- Excellent knowledge of Test Phases/Methodology (ie System Testing, System Integration Testing, CI/CD practices etc)
- Extensive experience in functional, system acceptance, digital browser/device testing, VRT, Accessibility and testing for UI design and usability.
- Extensive experience using tools including BrowserStack, AppliTools, Cypress, Selenium, JMeter and RESTApi.
- Experience in testing for WCAG 2.0 AA Accessibility standards for compliance purposes
- Solid experience in agile software development practices, with a clear understanding of how to write test cases with dedicated acceptance criteria to align with test plans and strategy.
- Experienced in creating, managing and executing automated and manual testing plans within a complex web environment.
- Experience writing automated regression scripts in C# or Java.
- Experience using JIRA and Zephyr to manage fortnightly releases.
- Highly desirable: Experience working with CI/CD practices as part of the development lifecycle.
