About the role
As the Registry Development Lead (Developer / System Analyst), you will work as part of a cross functional team to deliver scalable, secure and operationally stable solutions that deliver business value. Reporting to the Head of Technology Operations, you will support the technology team and wider business by analysing requirements and designing systems that meet those requirements.
You will develop, extend and maintain the core registry platform (Principal) supporting our wealth management environment, while mentoring junior team members and contributing to strong engineering practices across the team.
In this role, you will:
- Design, develop, test and deploy high quality software solutions as part of a cross functional team
- Deliver secure, scalable and operationally stable solutions with a strong focus on business value
- Apply a deep understanding of common security vulnerabilities and mitigation approaches
- Provide accurate estimates for work and take ownership to meet those estimates
- Improve code bases, deployment pipelines and monitoring solutions through continuous improvement
- Ensure documentation is concise, fit for purpose and delivered on time so knowledge is captured
- Mentor peers and junior team members to uplift capability and support quality delivery
- Maintain shared ownership of coding guidelines and best practices through peer reviews and updates
- Participate in team retrospectives, showcases and wider digital delivery meetings to share learnings
- Lead technical proofs of concept to reduce unknowns and demonstrate value
- Communicate issues and blockers clearly, manage expectations, and maintain strong stakeholder relationships
- Support technical leads and the business with estimates that support business cases
- Adhere to risk, compliance, security and workplace health and safety obligations and complete required training
About you
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related discipline
- 8+ years commercial software development experience in one or more of Ingres, ABF and VB.net
- Hands on experience with Unix scripting and writing SQL queries
- Experience with build, test and release of ABF, including code version control platforms
- Strong capability designing secure, scalable and operationally stable solutions
- Demonstrable understanding of security best practices and staying current on threats and mitigations
- Strong problem solving skills and understanding of design patterns
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and time management skills
- Working knowledge of agile software development
- Experience working in a financial or wealth management environment
