About us
Established in 1840, we are Australia’s first wellbeing company, delivering health, wealth and care services for our members and the community.
As a social enterprise, we’re motivated by our purpose to positively impact the wellbeing of millions. We reinvest profits to deliver products and services sustainably that matter most to our members, customers and the Australian community.
For us, Real Wellbeing encompasses the whole experience of life. It’s about feeling supported in your health, connected with your community and empowered to live life on your terms.
About the Opportunity:
Australian Unity is strengthening its enterprise delivery discipline to ensure that projects and squads are delivered with greater confidence, consistency and control.
We are seeking a Delivery Assurance Lead to provide independent, pragmatic assurance and advisory support across a complex portfolio. Drawing on deep delivery experience, this role focuses on delivery health, governance, stage gate readiness and continuous improvement through insight, challenge and early intervention.
Sitting within the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO), the role works closely with project managers, delivery leaders, portfolio managers, sponsors and governance forums to improve delivery confidence and support successful outcomes.
What you’ll do
- Conduct risk-based delivery health checks across projects and squads, assessing delivery setup, planning, governance, resourcing, dependencies, risk and delivery confidence.
- Provide clear, evidence-based insights and actionable recommendations to delivery teams and leaders, identifying emerging risks and supporting effective intervention and recovery actions.
- Participate in project Steering Committees in an advisory capacity, providing independent views on delivery health, governance effectiveness, readiness and decision confidence.
- Support project teams in preparing for lifecycle stage gates by assessing evidence quality, identifying gaps early and helping ensure governance requirements are met.
- Provide pragmatic coaching and advisory support to project managers and delivery leaders to strengthen alignment with the Enterprise Delivery Framework and improve delivery outcomes.
- Work closely with portfolio managers and senior stakeholders to maintain a consistent enterprise view of delivery performance, risk and confidence.
About You:
You’re an experienced delivery professional who has worked across complex projects, programs, portfolios or Agile squads, and you understand what strong delivery looks like in practice. You bring a good grasp of governance, assurance and risk, with the ability to assess delivery health and identify where support or attention is needed early.
You’re confident working with delivery teams, sponsors and senior stakeholders, and you know how to provide objective advice in a constructive way. You can interpret delivery information, spot patterns or risks, and turn your insights into clear, practical recommendations that help teams make better decisions.
You balance structure with pragmatism and understand that good governance should enable delivery, not slow it down. You’re also motivated by continuous improvement and enjoy helping organisations strengthen delivery capability, ways of working and overall performance.
