Your New Role Looks Like This

 

As the Data Engineer, you will design, develop and maintain scalable, secure and operationally stable modern data solutions that support the enterprise community of Data and Analytics practitioners to deliver innovation and business value. You will continuously improve the Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) based on advancements in best practices and in response to business requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities Include

 

  • Maintain and continue to enhance the infrastructure required for optimal data orchestration and transformation from a wide variety of sources leveraging AWS data services and technologies.
  • Work with different stakeholders to develop and manage data pipelines and curation of common data sets for the business use.
  • Support the Data & Analytics teams build data solutions that drives insights to support business objectives.
  • Manage complex data quality rules and custom functionality in the Master Data Management (MDM) platform.
  • Manager and support the daily operational performance of the EDP including monitoring, alerting, lifecycle management, incident response and defect resolution within defined thresholds.
  • Contributes to the architecture, design and implementation of a modern data analytics platform
  • Mentors other Data Engineering staff in the delivery of services and problem resolution

 

What we are looking for

 

  • Demonstrated experience in commercial software development or data analytics experience, with tertiary qualifications in Computer Science or related discipline.
  • In depth knowledge of documentation, coding, testing and deployment using multiple development languages and platforms
  • Strong Software quality assurance and problem diagnosis and resolution
  • Demonstrated experience with one or more Relational and NoSql database platform.
  • Demonstrated experience developing data solutions in AWS tech stack (Glue, cloudformation, EMR, S3, EC2, Redshift, RDS)
  • Experience with delivering and maintaining Big Data implementations
  • Experience in Python, PySpark & Airflow would be highly regarded
  • Performance analysis and optimization of data ETL processes
  • Working knowledge of Data Quality and Master Data Management
  • Ability to understand the essential needs of users and meet these needs in well-designed data pipelines, software applications and solutions.
  • Advanced skills and knowledge of designing distributed systems and architecture patterns
  • Demonstrable experience in mentoring and coaching those around you to develop their own technical skills.
