Your New Role Looks Like This:
We’re looking for a sharp-minded and commercially savvy Credit Analyst to join our Mortgage Fund team, supporting the Australian Unity Select Income Fund. This role is central to assessing and managing credit risk across a diverse portfolio of development finance transactions, from residential and commercial projects to mixed-use property developments.
As a trusted member of our investment team, you’ll play a key role in driving confident lending decisions through robust financial analysis, insightful risk assessment, and hands-on portfolio monitoring.
What you’ll do:
- Deliver thorough credit analysis of borrowers, guarantors, and project sponsors
- Assess development feasibility, including pre-sales, equity contributions, and cost-to-complete analysis
- Review and interpret financial statements, cash flow forecasts, and project budgets
- Prepare clear and compelling credit submissions and recommendations for committee approval
- Undertake due diligence across projects, borrowers, and associated risks
- Identify and mitigate risks linked to market conditions, construction, legal, and regulatory factors
- Monitor loan covenants, project milestones, and early warning indicators
- Assist in structuring loan terms, securities, and risk mitigants
- Collaborate with legal, valuation, and quantity surveying experts to validate assumptions
- Maintain regular contact with borrowers, ensuring accurate performance tracking and reporting
- Contribute to investor reporting, insights, and presentations
About You:
This role requires a working knowledge of the property development, real estate and the broader financial services industry. It is targeted towards an experienced and insightful analyst with experience in writing credit submissions, involvement with structuring property development transactions, being able to articulate that message to a range of stakeholders as well having a sound understanding of the broader property market.
- 3+ years of experience in credit analysis, ideally within banking, private credit, mortgage funds, or property development finance
- Proficiency in financial modelling and credit risk assessment
- Tertiary qualifications in business, economics and/or property
- Familiarity with legal documentation and security structures in lending
- Experience in writing credit submissions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
