Your New Role Looks Like This:

 

Reporting to the Hospital and Medical Team Leader, the Claims Consultant will be responsible for a range of tasks relating to the handling of claims received from Hospital and Medical Providers. This includes assessing of claims in line with business fund rules, product and core systems. This role is within the Healthcare Management & Product team within Health Insurance.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Assessing Hospital and Medical claims
  • Assess exception reporting
  • Coaching Providers through customer contact for incorrect billing practices.
  • Comply with all fund and claim rules.
  • Identify inappropriate claims through on the job exposure and experience from attention to detail.
  • Ensure that money is paid appropriately when releasing claims.
  • Ensure that communication is of a high level and complies with Australian Unity standards.
  • Maintain standard templates, procedures and protocols to compliance requirements
  • Identify control gaps in existing processes and recommend improvements
  • Passion for process improvement with members at front and centre of mind

 

 

About You:

 

  • Previous experience in PHI or a claims assessing role preferred
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
