About the Opportunity:
We're looking for a proactive and analytical Business Risk Analyst to join our Wealth & Capital Markets team.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Business Risk, you'll play an important role in supporting the effective management of compliance and non-financial risk across the business. Working closely with leaders and key stakeholders, you'll help embed risk and compliance frameworks, provide practical advice, deliver first-line assurance activities and contribute to a strong risk culture.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys partnering with the business, analysing risk and compliance information, identifying opportunities for improvement, and helping teams navigate a complex and evolving regulatory environment.
What you’ll do:
- Risk and compliance support: Help embed and maintain risk and compliance frameworks across Wealth & Capital Markets, providing practical guidance and constructively challenging the business to support effective decision-making.
- Analysis and reporting: Produce regular and ad hoc management reporting, analyse risk and compliance information to identify trends and emerging issues, and support targeted reviews and deep dives.
- Controls and first-line assurance: Support the identification and documentation of key controls and critical processes, assess control design and effectiveness, perform control testing and help address identified control gaps.
- Regulatory and compliance monitoring: Monitor regulatory developments and ASIC updates, support compliance monitoring and assurance activities, and help the business respond to changing regulatory obligations and industry requirements.
- Risk systems and registers: Maintain relevant risk and compliance registers and support the quality and accuracy of information recorded within the Governance, Risk and Compliance system.
- Risk culture and capability: Develop and deliver targeted training, guidance and communications, helping leaders and employees understand and take ownership of their risks, controls, incidents and actions.
- Business and regulatory change: Provide risk and compliance input into projects, business changes and product development, including the review of relevant customer and investor communications.
- Incident, issue and action management: Support the management and escalation of incidents, issues and control weaknesses, and help coordinate audit, assurance and regulatory actions through to closure.
About You:
You're a collaborative and commercially minded risk professional who enjoys working closely with stakeholders to help them manage risk and make informed decisions.
You bring strong analytical skills, attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Comfortable working in a complex environment, you're able to manage changing priorities and tight deadlines while building trusted relationships across the business.
You will bring:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in risk, compliance, governance, audit or a related discipline
- A minimum of three years’ post-graduate experience in risk, compliance, controls assurance or a comparable role
- Knowledge of risk management, compliance and regulatory frameworks within financial services or a similarly regulated environment
- Experience conducting risk analysis, control assessments, compliance monitoring or assurance reviews
- Strong analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to identify material trends, emerging risks and areas requiring management attention
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and problem-solving skills
- The confidence to provide practical advice and constructively challenge stakeholders
- The ability to manage tight deadlines, ambiguity and changing priorities within a complex environment
- Experience within wealth management, investment management, superannuation or broader financial services will be highly regarded
