Our Opportunity:
The Senior Workplace Engineer serves as an essential bridge between the business and sustainable technical solutions within Australian Unity’s dynamic enterprise environment. This position is responsible for leading the design, development & delivery of Microsoft 365 solutions across Identity, M365 suite, Collaboration, MDM, Security & Compliance. You will drive change and excellence through proactive identification of gaps and introducing resolutions that are effective and scalable. The role will combine technical prowess, problem-solving acumen, clear communication with a deep commitment to customer satisfaction. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining productivity, security and user trust by ensuring seamless integration & operation of modern workplace technologies.
Accountabilities include:
- Deliver high quality, value focused, customer centric technology solutions
- Ensure secure, stable and high-performing environments that power our organization ·
- Support a seamless integration and operation of modern workplace technologies
- Liaise with stakeholders to identify and define technical requirements, scope and objectives
- All solutions are relevant, secure and fit for purpose and built to cater for the evolving needs of the group
- Ensure best practices are documented and well understood throughout the technology team(s) in scope
- Assist in the enforcement of organisational IT policies, security protocols and compliance standards
- Strong collaboration demonstrated between BAU, Project, Vendor Support Offshore teams and relevant stakeholders
- Responsibility for the products, systems, solutions and processes that make up Workplace Technology
About You:
To be successful in the role you will be able to demonstrate the following capabilities / experience:
- Advanced knowledge of modern workplace platforms, hybrid & cloud native solutions
- Act as the subject matter expert for IAM, M365 productivity & collaboration suite, Intune MDM & End User Computing
- Deep experience designing, delivering and supporting Microsoft on-prem and Cloud solutions in complex enterprise environments
- Leading technical delivery across Microsoft 365, AD/Entra ID, SharePoint, Exchange, Purview and End User Computing
- Designing and implementing secure, scalable Workplace Technology solutions
- Performing technical assessments, solution demonstrations and Proof of Concept initiatives
- Skilled in PowerShell scripting and automating repetitive tasks & reports
- Deep knowledge of Identity & Access Management including Conditional Access, SSO, app integrations & B2B
- Hands on experience using Microsoft Active Directory and Entra ID, Microsoft Purview, SharePoint Online, Teams, Teams Telephony and OneDrive, Exchange hybrid & Exchange Online, EUC - Windows 11, Autopilot, Windows 365, Intune MDM, M365 productivity apps
- A good understanding of security best practices, infrastructure & networking concepts
- Strong stakeholder, interpersonal & communication skills with the ability to adapt to different audiences
- A working knowledge of service management tools such as Service Now
- Excellent skills to document solutions & guides that is tailored to the audience (HLD's, As-built, User Guides)
