The Role 

 

We are currently looking for a full time Maintenance Officer to join the friendly team in Constitution Hill in Northmead.

 

Constitution Hill in Northmead is a welcoming, community‑focused retirement village dedicated to supporting older people to live independently, safely, and with dignity. What you will be doing 

 

  • Providing a range of general maintenance and building maintenance duties – this may include painting, lighting maintenance, air conditioning, tiling, basic plumbing, event set up/pack down and other general repairs.
  • Conducting regular inspections and maintenance of buildings, facilities, vehicles and equipment
  • Building strong relationships with residents, families, and staff, through professional and respectful communication
  • Scheduling work with approved maintenance contractors  
  • Conduct maintenance of shared spaces, ensuring a high standard of presentation
  • Working within health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe environment for residents, staff and contractors, reporting hazards where appropriate
  • Work hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm with the possibility of additional hours

 

About you 

 

  • Previous maintenance or handyman experience. Trade background/qualifications preferred but not essential. 
  • Proven ability to work independently and within a team
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and handle urgent matters.
  • Strong time management and customer service skills
  • Computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft suite and asset/contractor management systems 
  • A current Light Rigid licence drivers’ licence (or be willing to obtain)
  • A current First Aid & CPR Certificate (or be willing to obtain)
  • Fully vaccinated for Influenza and COVID 19 (2 Doses)
