Your new role 

 

We are currently looking for Maintenance Officer / Handyperson to join the friendly team at our Rathdowne Place Aged Care facility in Carlton. As part of the Maintenance team, you will be responsible for the upkeep and general maintenance of the residential living and shared spaces of Rathdowne Place, working in accordance with health and safety guidelines and providing a support service that enhances the wellbeing of our residents.

 

  • Providing a range of general maintenance and building maintenance services
  • Delivering a high level of customer service to residents, visitors, contractors, and staff.
  • Maintenance ,working with high pressure cleaning equipment of external shared space of the building.
  • Working within health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe environment for residents and staff, reporting hazards where appropriate.
  • Varied tasks including changing light globes, hanging pictures, plaster repair/painting and basic plumbing, and cabinetry repairs.

Does this sound like you?

 

  • Previous maintenance experience. Trade background/qualifications preferred but not essential.
  • A warm individual with the ability to build trust and communicate effectively with our residents and team members.
  • Knowledge of OHS requirements with a strong resident and safety focus.
  • Previous experience in a Retirement Community, Aged Care, or hotel environment advantageous
  • Computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft suite and asset management/ordering systems preferred.
  • Availability to work part time (4 days per week): 8:00AM to 4:00PM
